Wet 'n' Wild Silk Finish Lipstick Swatches

I spring-cleaned my makeup collection the other day, throwing out old ones and setting aside the ones i barely use as well as the ones I haven't gotten around to using yet - so they'll be ready when someone interested to give them a new home comes by. In order to use everything I have in my collection, I actually do a monthly "makeup rotation". FYI, my makeup collection isn't that big - I'm more of a "skincare" girl and I'm not really into buying makeup these days but I'm happy with what I have FOR NOW ;)

When I was still testing out shades to know my "best" shades and "safe" shades, Wet N' Wild and NYX were my best pals - and Makeupalley.com. lol :D WnW Silk Finish, in particular, was my favorite line because it is not drying on lips and coverage is usually good. well don't expect them to be long lasting because 1) they are creamy and 2) they are cheap - around $2.50 each :D like I said, they are good for testing out a shade and you can just toss them in the trash if they didn't work, sans guilty conscience ^^

My good research skills served me well because these three shades actually worked on me ;)

Wet n' Wild Silk Finish in 521A, 520E and 514A

Just for reference, I am NC25 {MAC}, 520E Hot Paris Pink {pink} and 514A Cherry Frost {red} looked good on me while 521A Fuchsia w/ Blue Pearl {fuchsia}, hmm, not really, but on good days, yes. 520E Hot Paris Pink and similar shades are my everyday go-to pink lipstick shade, they compliment my skintone well :)

521A has blue shimmers while 514A has gold shimmers however no need to be scared wearing these because those shimmers are so tiny - barely noticeable, and look really really good on photos. three swipes to get the kind of intensity as above swatches which only goes to show that these lipsticks are buildable.

These babies are so cheap! 119Php. SM-Watson's carries WnW brand but popular shades are usually OOS. I bought 521A and 520E online for about the same price.

Havaianas Moving Out Sale at Paseo de Sta. Rosa

Just a quick share because I have a bazillion things to do and I really really need to shower before anything else ~ omg it's awfully hot today :(

Check out Havaianas Outlet Store in Paseo de Sta. Rosa (Laguna) the soonest (sale is from Feb 1 to 28, 2013) because everything is 50% off . This is a moving out sale so a part of me is quite sad to see them go :( They are just a stone's throw away from my place and I will surely miss seeing them when passing by

but do check them out. and buy. I spotted a couple of glow-in-the-dark slippers for kids :)

Popoy Approves! Spiderman Lightup Timer Toothbrush

My son has this weird habit of changing names and naming things/people. Just last month, he insisted that we call him "Nani". While I didn't really like it, we went along with it and in no time, everyone in the household referred to him as "Nani". I thought it was that sometimes I call him "Noni" for no particular reason however, the other night, he came up with yet another name to call himself. this time, it's "Popoy"

of course, I was aghast!

then his yayo is now named "Berting" which used to be "Jujun" (his real name is Jun). Please don't ask me how and where he got these names because I really don't know.

Anyway, I saw this blinking toothbrush and decided to get one for Popoy since he's into Spider-man and Batman these days (goodbye Cars!) The light blinks for full 60 seconds which is good since it entertains Popoy while I go deeper into his mouth without risking a bite. With a regular toothbrush, a full 10 seconds would be a miracle already so for me, this is godsend!

has soft bristles and this is very important because I don't want Popoy hurting his gums while brushing his teeth. He's getting good at brushing his front teeth by himself but he gets gigil so I make sure his toothbrush has soft bristles.

According to package, when the light no longer flashes, it is time to change the toothbrush (approx 3 months)

no problem so far in using this toothbrush. That is if you don't count the number of times I had to look for it come brushing time since Popoy took it and played with Spiderman somewhere.

Overall, I'm happy with this lightup timer toothbrush since we're having a huge success in using it. I'm thinking now maybe I should include this into my toddler inaanaks' gift bags!

What Made Me Happy Today: HS Friends and Floral Flats!

I just got home from meeting up with my HS friends. I must admit, when I saw them, that was the only time I realized I truly missed them so yeah, it felt really good to be chatting *ahem, loudly* and having lunch with them - a lunch that sort of included merienda since the gang broke up at around 3pm already. lol :D

My friend D - yep, THE guest blogger-slash-awesome mommy D was with me as she is part of my HS group too as told here - needed to check on her pre-registration booth for some event in SM San Pablo so we tagged along as I was planning to get a foundie. We were with another friend, K, who is really based in Doha but currently visiting the Philippines with her lovely kids. I love K, we have never had an argument,  not even once, and I'm talking about 19 years here. and we share a certain kind of addiction: shopping. lol :D come to think of it, C and G, the other two who also made it this afternoon, I've managed to maintain very clean slates with, too. ^^

So just imagine, two long time shop-loving friends with nothing really important to do, in a mall.

Yep, we bought matching floral flats. Hers, a size nine; mine, an eight.

And we plan to go to the next get together-slash-HS reunion wearing our babies. lol :D

Thanks Fofo Kids!

My Facebook page was still in its infancy when a post was shared on our wall. It was an invite to come give a shot to an ongoing promo for their shop's launch. There wasn't much to do to join: you just have to like their page, fill up a form and guess the exact date of the launch.

Honestly, I don't really join each and every contest that comes my way. Some of them are too complicated to join and others require too much effort on my part (yup. lazy me) So I just go with the ones that are reasonable and fun. Fofo Kids' promo teaser, on the other hand, was really cute so I joined.

I asked the hubby to give me a number off the October calendar. He gave me 25. I went with 23. lol.

Lucky I listened to the stubborn me, look what it brought me:

Lucky number 3!! :)

Yey! Me and the kids were sooo excited! So just imagine our joy when this came in the mail:

No, not Perry the Platypus! :)
One look inside the loot bag and I knew there would be trouble, especially when all 4 of us were present upon opening of the package. *well, I tried to delay it but them 3 were not going anywhere, literally following me wherever I went*

So I opened - and braced myself for the onslaught!

They came popping out one by one!
Beanies!!
While taking photos of these beanies, the other Fofos were already getting dizzy being passed and grabbed, pulled and fought over. Poor Fofos!

Personalized letter from Fofo Kid's main man, Francis. aww.. :)

Boris on C's head ^_^

Stuffies for R ^_^

Say hi to the gang! Cutie keychains! ^_^

I so love the keychains! ..but the hubby beat me to it, he was already delegating these cuties to his key collection while I was busy negotiating with the kids about who gets what. lol :)

The stuffies and the keychains squeak, much to C's delight.

These guys indeed made my day! Thanks Fofo Kids! Thanks Francis! ^_^

Check out Fofo Kids' Facebook page to know more about the Fofos. I heard their family is expanding soon so stay tuned :)

btw, those keychains are handcrafted. awesome right? Check out TheHappy Qwiirty on Facebook! :)

Cheers!

La Senza Outlet Store At Paseo de Sta. Rosa

I'm not really sure if it's indeed a La Senza outlet store or if they are considered as one, all I know is that there are rows upon rows and drawers upon drawers of La Senza goodies from tame PJs to seduce-your-man sheer lingeries selling at 40, 50 and 70 % off. For me, that officially makes it an outlet store. lol.

The confusion starts here:

"Bench Depot"

So if I enter this store, I expect to see all things  Bench right? Well, not in this store. Lookiee:

La Senza

Charles and Keith

KidConnection
Celio
Mothercare
There were other known brands that I wasn't able to take pictures of as I was trying to be very discreet about the act. lol. I didn't want to call any unwanted attention so very sorry guys :( I pretended to be texting and finding a mobile phone signal just so I can take fairly good photos of the place. lol. Not that I was sure they would throw me out if found taking pictures but I was just trying to be on the safer side. I'll try to get some more pictures next time.

It's a one stop shop in there, seeing all those popular brands side by side selling at awesome discounted prices! I say, best to start your Christmas shopping here! There's definitely something for everybody, even for the baby! :)

Note, this store is somewhat hidden, I discovered it by accident actually. If you'll come from the front (if you see Starbucks, Pancake House, Adidas, etc, then you're in front), you have to walk a little further going in (arrow straight) then cross a two-lane street until you find the garden-slash-park as it is somewhat in the middle - the center being the roundish, open air garden. From there, turn your head to your right. If you somehow end up out back where The Beauty Bar, Payless, Nike are located, walk a little going in, no more than 20 big steps until you find the garden then face left. You'll be able to spot it from there.

Paseo de Sta. Rosa is a commercial and lifestyle center located at Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. Map here. Website here. Major Brands/Institutions: Nike Factory Outlet, Nike Park Outlet, Marks & Spencer Outlet, Debenhams Outlet Store, Mizuno, Nine West, Gap & Banana Republic Outlet, Aerosoles, Payless, Speedo, Adidas, All Flipflops, Crocs, G-Force, Rudy Project, Bench Depot, Levi’s, CafĂ© Breton, Starbucks, Kanin Club, The Old Spaghetti House, Pancake House, Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Shakey’s, Racks, Razon’s, Ryuma, Yellow Cab, Mecury Drugstore, National Bookstore, Ateneo Graduate School of Business

It's worth a visit especially if you are on your way to Tagaytay (30mins from Paseo de Sta. Rosa) Enchanted Kingdom is about 10minutes away sans traffic. lol. :)

Cheers! :)
